Independence Day 2023
Exciting Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort: Join the Fun!
This year’s big Independence Day 2023 event at the Red Fort in Delhi is going to be special. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi will raise our National Flag and talk to the country like he always does. Around 1,800 important people are coming as ‘special guests’ to join this event. This is because the government wants all of us to be more involved in how the country is run.
Who Are These ‘Special Guests’?
Some special people have been invited to the Red Fort event. They are Sarpanches from interesting villages, and also people from the Farmer Producer Organisations scheme. There are also people who get benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. Don’t forget the Shram Yogis (construction workers) from the Central Vista Project, Khadi workers, and those who help make border roads. Even the folks behind Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana are there, along with primary school teachers, nurses, and fishermen.
Cool Picture Spots and Selfie Contest
Guess what? There are cool spots where you can take pictures, and they’re all about the good things the government does. These spots are at 12 places around Delhi. To make things more fun, there’s a selfie contest online. You can join from August 15 to 20 on the MyGov website. Take a selfie at any of the 12 spots and share it on MyGov. If you’re lucky, you could win ₹10,000! That’s a lot of money just for a selfie.
The Indian Army’s Big Role
This year, the Indian Army is in charge at the Red Fort. Two important people, Major Nikita Nair and Major Jasmine Kaur, will help the Prime Minister put up the National Flag. When the Flag goes up, two helicopters from the Indian Air Force will drop flower petals from the sky. It will look really cool!
Show Your Love for the Country
Before Independence Day, our Prime Minister Modi changed his picture on social media to the Indian flag. He also asked us to do the same. He wants us to change our profile pictures to the Indian flag and show we love our country. He even started the #HarGharTiranga movement. It means that he wants all of us to put the Indian flag in our pictures and show how much we care about our nation.
Be Part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign
The Prime Minister told us about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. It will happen from August 13 to 15. He said the Indian flag is a symbol of our freedom and unity. He wants us to take pictures with the flag and put them on a special website. This will help us feel closer to our country and show our pride.
In a nutshell, the big Independence Day celebration at the Red Fort is not just about the flag and the Prime Minister’s speech. It’s also about including all of us in the country’s decisions. The ‘special guests’ are from different areas and jobs, and the selfie contest makes it even more exciting. Let’s all show our love for India by joining the #HarGharTiranga campaign and taking part in the fun!
