Ever find those customer service calls super annoying? The waiting, the robot voices, the snooze-worthy tunes – we’ve all been there. But guess what? Google’s got a Pixel trick up its sleeve that can turn those dreadful calls into a breeze. It’s called Direct My Call, and it’s a game-changer!

So, what’s the deal with Direct My Call? Well, it’s like a superhero for your phone calls. Imagine calling up a big-shot business with one of those robot menus – airlines, major stores, you name it. With Direct My Call, your Pixel screen becomes your sidekick. It shows you what the robot voice is blabbing about and gives you options right there on your screen. Just tap your way through the call, easy peasy. And get this – you can even use it with some business numbers that don’t have that toll-free perk.
Here are the deets you need to know:
- Direct My Call speaks English and hangs out on Pixel 3a and newer in the U.S. and Pixel 6 and up in the UK. Sorry, rest of the world – you’ll have to wait your turn.
Ready to activate this superhero mode on your Pixel? Follow these steps:
- Open up the Phone app (duh).
- See those three dots in the top right? Click on ’em and hit More.
- Now, tap on Settings.
- Look for the magic words – Direct My Call. Click on it.
- Double-check that the Direct My Call switch is ON. If not, flip that switch! You can also turn on “faster menu options” if you’re rocking a Pixel 3a or a newer model.
And voila! When you dial up a service with a robot voice, your Pixel will spill the beans on what it’s saying and show you the choices. Pick your path by tapping on what you want or playing with the numbers at the bottom of the screen.
