Maldives and China sign 21 agreements – China’s President Xi Jinping and the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, had a big meeting on Wednesday. They signed 20 important agreements, making their countries good friends. This is a big deal!

The Maldivian President’s office shared that the two leaders signed these agreements, and everyone saw it happen. They had a fancy welcome ceremony for President Muizzu and his wife at the Great Hall of People in China. It was a big show with a red carpet and a 21-gun salute!

Later, President Xi and his wife hosted a fancy dinner for Muizzu. But, there’s some trouble between the Maldives and India because some Maldivian leaders said bad things about India’s Prime Minister. This made many Indian tourists cancel their trips to the Maldives.

Despite these issues, Muizzu is visiting China to make friends and talk about important things. He will meet with top Chinese leaders and discuss trade and projects. He wants more Chinese tourists to visit the Maldives and asked for help during a meeting in China’s Fujian Province.

Muizzu thinks China is a great friend and partner. He likes the projects China started in the Maldives, and he wants to make a deal to sell more fish to China. There was an agreement in 2014, but it didn’t happen. Now, Muizzu wants to make it work and get more Chinese investments for 11 projects in the Maldives.
