ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Celebration (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, who was elected because the 14th president of the nation with a giant margin, will take oath as the top of state on Sunday. The oath-taking ceremony will happen on the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad at 4 pm on Sunday. Zardari, who was the joint candidate of the ruling alliance, was elected because the nation’s president for the second time on Saturday after he defeated PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai by an enormous margin. The president-elect secured 411 electoral votes in parliament and all 4 provincial assemblies with the backing of allied events – primarily Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Motion-Pakistan (MQM-P). Within the Nationwide Meeting, Zardari bagged 225 votes whereas Achakzai acquired 119 votes. In the meantime, within the Sindh Meeting, he gained 53 votes whereas his opponent may solely get three.
