Lahore: Nawaz Sharif, the supreme chief of PML-N, assumed a “de-facto” position of Punjab chief minister, a publish formally held by his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and presided over three administrative conferences of the provincial govt, elevating many eyebrows.Maryam took over as the primary lady CM of Pakistan’s Punjab province final month.Sharif, 74, assumed a “de-facto CM role” and issued instructions to ministers and officers relating to a number of infrastructure tasks within the province, together with the underground practice and metro bus, farmers’ plight, electrical bikes for college kids and a Ramzan reduction bundle. Nonetheless, Nawaz chairing the conferences raised many questions since he holds no official place in both the provincial or federal govt and is formally solely a Nationwide Meeting member. Presiding over govt conferences as a member of the Nationwide Meeting is unprecedented.
