Big Fight and Sad Events
As the New Year started, Ukraine faced both good and bad times. Russian attacks caused deaths in Odesa and Kherson. This happened after a series of big strikes by Russia in 2023, taking many lives in one of the worst attacks of the conflict.
Air Attack
Ukraine’s air force shared shocking details about the attacks. Russia sent 90 Iranian-made Shahed drones on the last night of the year. But Ukraine’s defenders did an amazing job and destroyed 87 out of the 90 enemy drones.
Attacks on Different Places
The attacks didn’t stop at drones. Moscow sent missiles to Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. Odesa also got hit, with one person losing their life. Meanwhile, Lviv, near Poland, got drone attacks damaging a university and a museum.
Back and Forth Attacks: The Ongoing Fight
While Ukraine defended against drones, Russia reported Ukrainian drone attacks near its border. The fight got worse with Ukraine attacking Belgorod, causing 24 deaths. The conflict between Moscow and Kyiv keeps getting more serious, showing how tough the situation is.
