AMBALA/KURUKSHETRA: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Charuni held a symbolic protest for 2 hours by blocking a number of roads in districts of Haryana on Thursday, in protest in opposition to demise of younger farmer Shubhkaran Singh at Khanauri border and authorities’s use of extreme drive in opposition to protesting farmers.Roads have been blocked from 12 midday to 2 pm. In Kurukshetra, Nationwide Freeway (NH) 44 was blocked by BKU Charuni employees at Shahabad-Markanda, led by union spokesman Rakesh Bains.In Pehowa, NH-152 (Ambala-Hisar) was blocked at Gangheri village. In Yamunanagar, NH-344 was blocked at Kail Chowk close to Jagadhri. Equally, in Ambala, the Panchkula-Yamunanagar street was blocked close to Laha Majri village.The farmers solely allowed the emergency automobiles like ambulance and navy automobiles to cross by the blockade.In view of the street block name, the district administration had diverted the visitors to the choice routes.“We blocked the roads at tehsil level in state in protest against the way Haryana government fired bullets and tear gas shells at farmers and damaged their tractors at Khanauri border”, mentioned Rakesh Bains.“The government shall accept the demands of the farmers. If it is not done, then we have convened a meeting of the core-committee of our union on Friday, after which a big decision would be taken”, mentioned Bains.Bains added that their union chief Gurnam Singh Charuni has 30 12 months lengthy expertise of organizing agitation and a technique can be fashioned as per the techniques of the Centre authorities.“If government continues more atrocities on the farmers, the agitation will be intensified”, mentioned Bains.
