NEW DELHI: Former Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) forward of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Gupta had resigned from Congress on March 22 claiming “character assassination” and “humiliation” by a senior chief of the celebration’s communications division was the rationale for his choice to go away the celebration.“The person who has humiliated me for the last two years, the person who has not budged from doing it in last three days, I am sure that he will not refrain from doing it in future and nobody will be able to stop him,” Gupta had stated in a submit on X.“The same leader has also damaged the party with his arrogant and rude behaviour. Due to his extreme leftist mindset he ensured party’s silence on insult of Sanatan Dharma which hurt me personally,” he added.Earlier this week, boxer-turned-politician, Congress chief Vijender Singh had additionally joined BJP.Singh was the Congress candidate from South Delhi seat within the 2019 Lok Sabha.Following his change, the Singh stated, “This feels like homecoming. I contested elections in 2019, and it feels good to be back. The respect that athletes receive both domestically and internationally under BJP and Modi govt is commendable.
