NEW DELHI: Hungary’s parliament on Monday authorized Sweden’s Nato bid, marking a major step in the direction of the growth of the army alliance in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The ratification handed with 188 votes in favor, and 6 in opposition to, eradicating the final hurdle for Sweden’s accession solidifying its place throughout the alliance.Swedish prime minister Ulf Kristersson mentioned on Monday that it was a “historic day,” after Hungary’s parliament ratified Sweden’s Nato bid, clearing the ultimate impediment for the Nordic nation to affix the army alliance.”Today is a historic day. The parliaments of all Nato member states have now voted in favour of Swedish accession to Nato.
